Recognizing the Urgency – When to Get Help Immediately
If you experience any of the following symptoms after your aesthetic procedure, seek medical help immediately or call emergency services:
🟥 General Emergency Signs
🔥 High fever over 38°C (100.4°F) + redness/swelling
😵 Sudden dizziness, fainting, or rapid heartbeat
🫁 Trouble breathing, chest pain, or severe shortness of breath
🧠 Confusion, blurred vision, or slurred speech
🤢 Continuous vomiting, especially with a swollen belly
🤒 Severe chills or shaking
💉 Injectables (Fillers/Botox)
👁️ Sudden vision changes or blindness
❄️ Pale, gray, or dark patches of skin with intense pain
😮 Lip or throat swelling, difficulty breathing
⚠️ Drooping eyelid or uneven smile right after treatment
- 🔴 Immediate numbness or tingling in the injected area: Sudden loss of feeling in the lips, nose, or cheeks right after filler may be a sign that nerves or blood flow are being affected. This should be treated as a warning and reviewed quickly.
🧑⚕️ Surgical Procedures (Facelift, Blepharoplasty, Rhinoplasty, etc.)
💥 One-sided swelling that’s rapidly getting bigger and painful
🩸 Heavy bleeding that doesn’t stop with pressure
🔴 Skin turning blue, black, or numb
🌡️ Incision is hot, red, and leaking pus with fever
💨 Fat Transfer (Face, Breast, Buttocks)
🫁 Sudden shortness of breath or chest pain (possible fat embolism)
🧊 Area turns pale/gray and feels very painful or cold
💔 One buttock or breast becomes tense, hard, and very swollen
🔴 Important:
Fat transfer to the face can cause similar emergency complications as facial fillers.
Please watch for the same warning signs:👁️ Sudden vision changes or vision loss
❄️ Pale, gray, or blotchy skin with severe pain
🤕 Immediate numbness or tingling in the treated area
🧠 Severe headache or confusion
These may indicate vascular occlusion or fat embolism, both of which require emergency medical attention.
💇 Hair Transplant
🤕 Swollen scalp with pus or bad smell
👁️ Forehead or eyelids swell so much you can’t open your eyes
🧪 High fever or spreading redness on the scalp
⚠️ Genital or Breast Surgery
🩸 Excessive bleeding or foul-smelling discharge
💣 Large swelling or firm lump forming rapidly
🚫 Trouble urinating after surgery
