He began his academic journey at Berlin Free University, where he held a leading position in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology. He later served as Head of the Department at Halle University and went on to become the Director of Otorhinolaryngology and Facial Plastic Surgery at Munich University.
Throughout his career, Dr. Berghaus has made significant contributions to the field of nasal and facial surgery. He served as President of both the German Society of Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery, and the German Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
